What was the highlight of Villas de Venecia
Peaceful getaway on family run rural property
Charming rural property makes for an great place recharge while travelling. The buildings are rustic with some nice touches (hammocks, carpets, soft blankets, flowers etc). It does feel like the lovely family who operates this place are still figuring it all out and completing the finishing touches. Enjoyed the included breakfast, free fresh produce and all their cute pets (well maybe not the rooster). Location out of town was not a problem as it is easy to catch a bus for 1200cop and walk the 800m up the drive from the road.
We were the only guests during our stay and felt at times almost as though we were intruding on the extensive family living on and running the property. Woken to sweeping outside our room each morning and couldn’t enjoy having our bedroom windows open as they were painting outside and the fumes were overwhelming. Wouldn’t recommended climbing up through the dense forest to the montaña, too steep and humid, maybe just go up to the bench overlooking the property for views.

What was the highlight of Villas de Venecia
We loved everything about this place!
We loved everything about this place! It is exceptionally good value for money, the location is a little outside of Salento but it is beautiful. Only about a 35minute walk into Salento town. They have good kitchen facilities and some restaurants nearby. The breakfast was great, really tasty and filling! Free coffee and free fruit all day is such a lovely bonus! The room itself (double room with shared bathroom) was big and very clean. The staff were all great, especially Rafa who always had a smile on his face! We miss Tony the dog already!! We stayed 6 nights and wish we could have stayed longer!!
The only small thing that would have been a bit more convenient was if they sold bottles of water. Other then that it was such a fantastic place! Highly recommend it!

What was the highlight of Villas de Venecia
A bucolic farm where you can escape the crowds and relax in nature. A beautiful place.
A wonderful retreat which i enjoyed very much. It was great being able to explore Salento and the surrounding area from this secluded old farm. Wonderful nature and friendly staff, I enjoyed every minute. Added bonus for resident dog, Tony. We went on some hikes together. Give him a belly rub for me.
